Core Job Responsibilities
  • Assures all necessary mandatory education related to fire safety, infection control, resident rights, hazard communication, safety issues, dementia training and policy and procedure are up to date.
  • Schedules mandatory in-services on a rotating basis. 
  • Assists in developing, implementing and conducting relevant in-service training programs and staff based competencies. 
  • Maintains and manages the facility infection control program 
  • Conducts the facility new hire orientation process. 
  • Participates in the facility Quality assurance process. 
  • Maintains and monitors staff licensure, certification, physicals and immunization for compliance.
Key Educational/Professional Requirements
  • Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
  •  Associates degree preferred 
  • Minimum 1 year LTC experience as Staff Development Coordinator 
  • Experience with Dementia/ Geriatric psychiatric background preferred 
  • CPR certification 
  • Must have good communication, organization and mentoring skills
