Royal Health Group Braintree is currently looking for an Experienced Cook to be part of their dynamic Team

Overview and Requirements

* Must possess knowledge and experience in all cooking methods including batch cooking, roasting, grilling, sauteing, baking, braising and frying.
* Must have ability to fluently read/write and speak English. Being fluent in additional languages is desirable.
* Must possess strong and efficient ability in food preparation skills, including knife skills, using a meat slicer, commercial mixer, food processor, thawing techniques, presentation and garnishing. Must have ability to follow recipes and season food appropriately. Although creativity is encouraged, candidate must adhere to structure.
* Must have experience as a supervisor. This position requires ability to supervise several employees to assure tasks are completed efficiently and completely to specification of Food Service Director. This position requires candidate to run kitchen smoothly in absence of Food Service Director and First Cook.
* Long Term Care Experience as a supervisor strongly preferred. Experience in a hospital setting, or institutional setting also preferred.
* Must have ability to take direction from kitchen management, including 1st and 2nd cooks.
* Must have ability to be flexible with schedule. This is a full time position. The hours are not set, and could rotate as business needs change. This could include any time between 6am and 8pm, including weekends and holidays.
* Must have ability to maintain composure in times of pressure, including employee/management interaction and residents and family members. Keeping a calm, positive attitude is part of job description.
* Knowledge of Local and State Sanitation and safe food handling requirements strongly preferred, including strong preference for ServSafe Certification.
* Prior knowledge in therapeutic textures and restrictive diets are preferred, as this is a healthcare setting.
* Job will be required to put away food orders, and will require bending, standing for long periods of time, and assisting dietary aides in jobs if staffing levels dictate.
* Must have a "Customer First" attitude. Pleasing residents is top priority. Customer Service skills including phone communication with other departments is essential.
