Formerly known as Mashpee Center, Royal Cotuit will continue with a long standing history of high quality skilled nursing and rehabilitative care operating in a five-star rated facility in Cape Cod.

Royal Cotuit is Looking for an Outstanding Food Services Director to be Part of Their Team!!!!


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

1. Food Service Certificate from an accredited college
2. Be an active member or be willing to attain active membership with State Certifying Board of Dietary Managers.
3. Associate degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food & Nutrition, Nutrition, Art Culinary or field preferred, but not mandatory.
4. Minimum of 3 years experience in an upper management position with strong supervisory background.
5. Demonstrated professional commitment to providing quality meals and food service.
6. Has demonstrated successful management of personnel in previous positions.
7. Has demonstrated a desire to work for an elderly clientele, along with the difficulties this sometimes presents.

JOB PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
1. Works in well-lit and well-ventilated area.
2. Exposed to hot and cold temperatures in kitchen and storage areas.
3. Stands and walk short distances most of the day.
4. Lifts light to moderately heavy loads routinely (up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds).
5. Twists, turns and bends intermittently throughout the day.
6. Works in close quarters with other employees.
7. Must be able to withstand the pressure of meeting meal schedules and to deal with frequent demands of residents.
8. Must be able to be flexible in meeting demands of administration, staff and residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administration & Food Service
• Is flexible and aligns personal scheduling to meet the needs of the Department.
• Leads Department and meets budgetary responsibilities by assuming cooking and meal preparation responsibilities.
• Covers and coordinates coverage for open shifts, as needed.
• Responsible for the successful operation of all aspects of the Dining Services Department.
• Responsible for assuring that the Department meets all local, state, county and federal agency's regulations.
• Develops and/or approves menus in accordance with establishing governing agencies' standards.
• Develops, implements and evaluates an effective quality assurance program.
• Develops policies and procedures addressing all aspects of the Dining Services Department.
• Develops and implements short and long term goals for the Department.

2. Financial Responsibilities:
• Prepares a budget for the department with consideration for all aspects of expenditures, in compliance with state and facility guidelines.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in frequently obtaining bids from various vendors on an on going basis.
• Makes responsible decisions with respect to vendor, products, price and quality.
• Meets budgetary goals on a monthly basis. If unable to do so, is able to state reasons for over-expenditure.

3. Personnel Responsibilities:
• Provides guidance and evaluation of all staff.
• Staffs department in compliance with stated goals and objectives.
• Arranges for orientation and completion of all required paperwork and medical requirements.
• Appropriately disciplines and/or terminates employees within acceptable guidelines.
• Adhere to, and administers personnel policies as established by the department, facility and corporation.

Additional Responsibilities:
a. Contributes expertise as a member of the facility's team for planning and evaluating and participates on committees, as well as other organizational activities.
b. Maintains current skills by attending outside meetings and seminars appropriate to job function.
c. Completes all assignment within a timely fashion.
d. Understands the facility's overall goals and assists the facility in reaching those goals.
