Core Job Responsibilities
  • Supervises the Clinical Therapists and addresses any need areas or concerns. ·        
  • Reviews and assesses necessity of individual therapy treatment as well as symptom management group therapy.·        
  • Assigns and assures that assessments are completed in a timely fashion, i.e., clinical assessment, and elopement assessment.·        
  • Deliver direct psychotherapeutic and cognitive-behavioral skill based treatments in individual as well as group settings.·        
  • Provides crisis intervention and emergency care to residents when appropriate.·        
  • Acts as primary professional therapist for cases assigned, and communicates on-going assessment, treatment, and recommendations to clinical team, Including nursing and treating physicians/psychiatrists, on an ongoing basis through chart documentation, team meeting preparation, and other infonnal oral communications as needed.·        
  • Fosters engagement of resident into Neurobehavioral Program and assists in reviewing with team and resident their overall care plans, including the behavioral plan component, as it applies to successful outcome/discharge goals. ·       
  •  Completes required documentation for individual and group treatments.·        
  • Attends in-services and staff meetings, as required. ·        
  • Successfully completes course in Care and Safety Training and maintains competence via in house recertification, ·        
  • Maintains professional certification/licensure as appropriate. ·        
  • Actively participates in and responds to clinical supervision on a weekly basis. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the best possible treatment for all neurobehavioral program participants.
 
Key Educational/Professional Requirements
  •  Master's Degree and a License as a Mental Health Counselor or relevant License in relevant clinical area such as Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling
  •  3-5 years experience with an adult inpatient psychiatric or neurological population.         
  • Some experiential allowances may be made for a uniquely qualified individual with substantial demonstrated ability.          
  • Clinical knowledge and therapeutic skill in psychiatric brain injury rehabilitation.
