Core Job Responsibilities
  • Review menus prior to preparation of food.
  • Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
  • Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
  • Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
Key Educational/Professional Requirements
  • Strong and efficient ability in food preparation skills, ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Ability to follow recipes and season food appropriately. Although creativity is encouraged, candidate must adhere to structure.
  • Long Term Care, Hospital Settings or Resorts Experience strongly preferred..
  • Knowledge of Local and State Sanitation and safe food handling requirements strongly preferred, including strong preference for ServSafe Certification.
  • Must have a "Customer First" attitude. Pleasing residents is top priority. Customer Service skills including phone communication with other departments is essential.
