Royal Cape Cod is looking for Enthusiastic Admissions Clerk to be part of a Dynamic Team.

Full Time benefited position


The primary purpose of your job is to support the Admissions process with pre-admission and admissions functions to maximize compliance with regulatory guidelines and maximize patient census.

Job Duties:
  • Answer incoming telephone calls appropriately and professionally
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with facility staff, community and Medical Providers
  • Welcome and direct visitors
  • Welcome new residents and provide basic information to ease transition into facility
  • Assist in interviewing (in person and on phone) residents and responsible parties to obtain required information
  • Admit and prepare identification records/medical records for residents
  • Maintain an accurate record of available beds
  • Admit, transfer, discharge patients in RMS as appropriate
  • Provides current information on all pending and scheduled admissions to appropriate departments
  • Notify staff when resident has arrived at the facility to ensure a smooth transition
  • Ensure appropriate preparation of patient rooms for new admissions
  • Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental personal and other departments within the facility
  • Works closely with nursing and central supply to ensure all necessary care equipment is available for new residents prior to arrival
  • Explain thoroughly and obtain the resident/responsible parties signature on all required admissions forms, releases, authorizations, etc.
  • Distribute preadmission documentation as appropriate
  • Assure that work areas are clean, records and files are properly stored
  • Explain the resident/responsible party the room rates, billing procedures, insurance coverage, visitor/guest privileges, restrictions, resident care procedures, etc.
  • Distribute completed admission packet forms as directed
  • Refer admissions problems to the proper authority
  • Ensures confidentiality of patient information and facility information
Educational Requirements
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma
Experience
  • Customer service background
  • On the job training provided in admission and administrative procedures
Specific Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public
  • Must maintain professional demeanor
  • Must possess Basic Computer Skills
