Royal Health Group is looking for a Director of Nursing with Geriatric Psychiatric Experience for its newly renovated site, 
The Morse Pond Care Center in Falmouth, MA! 

The Director of Nursing is a Registered Nurse (RN) who has experience with the geriatric population as well as with a host of complex medical issues, mental health disorders, and substance abuse. The ideal candidate preferably has experience in a long-term care facility, or, inpatient psychiatric facility with working knowledge of the state and federal regulations pertaining to long-term care operation. The Director of Nursing will assume the nursing leadership role of a 120-skilled bed facility, and effectively manage the nursing department as well as other clinical and auxiliary staff. The Director of Nursing will collaborate and work effectively with the Executive Director/Nursing Home Administrator, and consult with the Medical Director, the Psychiatric Medical Director, and other Clinical Consultants on various issues related to the medical, physical, psychiatric, emotional, social, and spiritual aspect of the residents.

The Director of Nursing Main Job Duties:
  • Lead and manage the nursing department as well as other clinical and auxiliary staff
  • Effectively collaborate with the Executive Director, Medical Director, Psychiatric Medical Director, and other clinical consultants on behalf of the residents needs
  • Oversee and manage the nursing department with respect to exceptional nursing care, outlined budget, staff development, employee development, employee relations, employee engagement, and adherence to facility policies and procedures as well as expected state & federal regulations
  • Ensure that staff observe and maintain the indicated medication schedules, evaluate patients outcome, timely address outstanding issues, to regain positive outcomes
  • Champion service excellence in all aspects of care and positively coach and uplift staff to meet or exceed stated expectations
  • Build a solid nursing team to meet, at times exceed, and maintain the facility's high standards of care
  • Consult with other internal partners regarding the use of monitoring devices and the restraining techniques where deemed necessary
  • Consistently utilize the available tools to analyze relevant patients clinical data, and make appropriate medical, necessary nursing interventions, and obtain positive results
  • Chair and lead various clinical meetings to educate, train, counsel, and empower staff to better decision making techniques, and obtain positive outcomes.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Registered Nurse from an accredited institution
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Bachelors degree preferred - Associate Degree Required
  • Experience with geriatric psychiatric population preferred, but will consider strong candidate with excellent inpatient nursing psychiatric experience with working knowledge of the state and federal long-term care operation.
