General Statement of Responsibilities
The Unit Manager will work in partnership with the Director of Nursing promoting and restoring patients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing physical and psychological support for patients, friends and families. Selected candidate will ensure comprehensive care and treatment is rendered to our customers. He or she will maintain nursing management responsibilities and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality resident care is being delivered.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results
  • Establishes a positive work environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests
  • Ensures complete and prompt reporting on incidents with follow up as necessary to Administrator, Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing
  • Ensures that significant changes in residents' condition are communicated to the physician, family or responsible party
Key Educational/Professional Requirements
  • Must possess a license as an RN in the Commonwealth of MA
  • Graduate of approved accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in long term care facility.
